Blue Wave or Red Tsunami? Both parties have campaigned for a blowout Senate election in 2018. However, what are the possibilities of each?

Red Tsunami

This is a big talking point for Republicans, but can this happen? Possibly, but let's not ignore history. The last time the incumbent party won the midterm elections was the year 2002, when the Bush Administration and the Republicans won the majority of Congress. However, this was mostly due to the fact that 9/11 happened, and the country united as one behind President Bush. Most will say this was the last time the country was fully united in its history. However, in 2006, the Republicans lost their majority as the Democrats took the majority. The last "Red Tsunami" was in 2010, when the Republicans shocked the Democrats and took control of Congress. In the build up to this election, the Democrats were leading heavily. But, in a sort of old school Red Tsunami, the Republicans took control. In recent opinion polls, Democrats' lead over the Republicans has dropped almost 10% since December, when they had their largest lead yet.

So, is a Red Tsunami likely? Yes, very likely. But, will it happen? Possibly. How can we make this happen? VOTE! And vote RED!

Blue Wave

This has been talked about by the Democrats ever since the day Trump was elected. How possible is a "Blue Wave?" Very possible. Scarily possible. I believe it is inevitable honestly, but not in the way you think. There will most certainly be a lot more Democratic voters this year, but this doesn't mean the Democrats will most definitely take the House and the Senate. Right now, if history repeats itself, the Democrats will at least take the House. However, the Republicans are the favorite right now to win the Senate, but los the House. If you are a Republican, (and if you aren't, why are you on this site?) the only thing you can do to stop this is to Vote Red in November.
